As has "been stated, the condition can scarcely be diagnosed positively except by exclusion, and the most important thing to exclude is malignancy, and no doubt I think we should invariably--I never hesitate to advise, as I did in this case, and I am regarding the patient that Dr. Cullings has referred to as a case of acylia--if any signs of the condition change in any way whatsoever, I shall urge an exploratory. At present, having had the Mayo clinic to pass upon it, I am very reluctant to consider anything further now, certainly, in the way of surgical procedure. In regard to the management of the cases, as Dr. Fontaine says, no doubt the massage is an advantage. Anything that will tend to relieve the nervous phase of the case will aid in restoring the gastric condition. I do not think that is so important as diet and medical treatment.
