There are now 5 stiches. Make a DC. in each. The top part of the foot is finished. Next, work down the loft side of this piece in DC, then around the stitches at the bottom of the leg, and afterward along the right of the foot and around the toe. In doing this, the only part to be careful about is the left side of the foot. The hook here should be put under the last of the Afghan stitches down the side and through the stitch below. Work round and round the bottom of foot and leg in DC. for 6 or 7 rounds. Then turn the work inside out, place the two sides carefully together, put the hook through 7 stitches at the too end and draw the wool through the whole. Crochet in DC. the bottom edges of the foot together till only 7 stitches are left, put the hook through all of these, draw them together to match the toe end, fasten off, turn it inside out again, and the foot is finished. Next fasten the wool on the top of the leg; mako three chains, work two treble into the same hele, miss two stitches, and fasten with a DC. into the third stitch. Make two chain, work two trebles into the same hole as the DC.; miss two stitches and work a DC. ou the third. Repeat this scallop all around the top of the leg. The work is now complete with the exception of a little chain and tassels, or a narrow ribbon around the ankle. Tho pattern will hardly bo called a handsome one, but it is easily made and understood. Recapitulation: Cast on 35 stitches for top of leg; leg 15 rounds deep, top of foot 13 stitches wide, and ten rows to narrowings for the too.
