I am greatly pleased with one thing lately observed in your paper, that is, the stand taken against the practice of some to represent all parts of the country as in almost heathenish darkness. unless some of Their competent ministers are there. Everything, itscemE, must be Americanized, or it cannot be other than sectarian with such, in the worst sense of that term. If people are honest enough, as Methodists and Baptists generally are, to put their names to things, they can scarcely be allowed the character of men engaged in God's work, and having a single aim at his glory. When God comes in glory and power to build up Zion, (may he speedily appear, ) then his watchmen shall see eye to eye. The truth is to be learned and followed by fair exhibition of it--not to be advanced by management, and compromise, and agreement, to say nothing about any part of it.
