An act in relation to the streets aud alleys in the town of Lexington, in Scott county- [APPROVED FEBRUARY 12, 1851.] Section. 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of the State of Indiana, That it is hereby made the duty of the supervisor of roads in the districts in which the town of Lexington is situate, to cause to be removed all fences and other like obstructions now erected or which may hereafter be erected on or across any of the streets or alleys in said town. Sec. 2. It shall be lawful for said supervisor, or for any voter, resident in said town, to notify the person erecting such fence or like obstructions, or the owner of th property enclosed by such fence, to remove such fence or like obstructions from off said street or alley; and on failure to remove the same within ten days from the time of giving said notice, the person erecting the same, or the owner of the property aforesaid, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction before a justice of the peace, shall be fined any sum not less than one nor more than five dollars, and shall be liable to pay a like sum for each and every month said fence or like obstruction be allowed to remain thereafter; and such fines hall enure to the benefit of common schools. Sec. 3. This act to be in force from and after its passage. CHAPTER X.CVIII.
