The last plant as yet figured is the Trochodendron aralioides, an evergreen shrub, from damp shady places in the south of Japan, where it is called Jama-Kuruma, or Mountain-wheel, because of the verticillate arrangement of its leaves and numerous stamens; it appears to be similar in habit to our tree Ivy. 1.
