Excerpt from Eastman Kodak Trade Circular, Vol. 10 At Rochester and at our New York, Chicago and San Francisco branches we close the year around on Saturday afternoons. This means that no orders received after the noon hour on that day can be filled and that all orders for special sizes of papers etc., requiring cutting should come to hand at Rochester on Friday to insure shipment. Even when everything on the order is regular, dealers should get their orders for Saturday shipments into the mails early to make certain of delivery on the first mail Saturday morning. An hour s difference in getting into the office at your end may make several hours difference in delivery at our end - may mean that your letter will not reach us until Saturday afternoon, and that shipment cannot then be made until Monday. And - while we are on this subject - don't expect too much in the way of prompt shipments from orders received by us on Monday. Monday's mail is always nearly double that of other days and orders requiring anything special in the way of cutting odd sizes, etc., are sometimes delayed until Tuesday in spite of every effort. We don't believe, the nature of the goods considered, that anybody in any line of business handles orders more promptly than we do. Yet, for the sake of good service to you, we ask that attention be given to what we have said above about Saturday and Monday shipments. 50% Flat. Did you ever notice the umbrella advertisements and rubber advertisements that go into the store windows on particularly nasty, rainy day? Did you ever notice that fur coats are not advertised in May nor straw hats in November? Apropos of all of which did you ever notice that people rarely know what to do with their film negatives when they get a package of work from your finishing department? Why not tell them? We are just issuing a new small circular on thin paper which will be supplied (with your imprint) for inclosing in each package of negatives that you deliver to your customers, advertising the Eastman Negative Albums. They are well made albums - the best the of the kind, and we want to help you push them. And to make the whole proposition attractive to you, we will not only furnish the circulars but propose to furnish the albums at a flat 50% discount in any quantity. Just to remind you: Each album contains 100 pockets made of strong paper and consecutively numbered from 1 to 100, and an index on white paper.
