Decision Analytics and Optimization in Disease Prevention and Treatment baixar o livro de graça

With a focus on healthcare decision making, this book systematically reviews decision models and techniques currently being used and/or being considered for disease prevention and treatment.  The book is divided into three parts: optimization in chronic disease prevention; optimization in infectious disease control and prevention; and optimization in disease treatment and treatment technology.   The first part of the book focuses on preventive screening decisions for early diagnosis of chronic diseases, i.e. breast cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.  The second part of the book examines infectious diseases, i.e. HIV, pandemic influenza, hepatitis B, etc.  Infectious diseases are different from chronic diseases in terms of disease progression, types of prevention and treatment, and associated outcomes; therefore, the modeling techniques will be different within the two sections. The third and last part of the book deals with personalized patient treatment planning optimization for diseases including cancer, diabetes, etc.  Each chapter focuses on one specific medical decision problem and/or treatment technology, followed by the current applicable and recommended methodology utilized within the community.  For example, the breast cancer biopsy discussion utilizes Markov decision processes, cervical cancer coverage is accompanied by simulation techniques, radiation therapy options are combined with fluence map optimization tools, prostate cancer is treated with integer programming, etc.
